The Youth Group And Sunday School presented their annual White Gift Christmas Pageant on Sunday, December 13th.
The play called "The OMG Christmas Pageant", directed by Lorraine Ryan, is a contemporary take on the Christmas story, Elizabeth and Mary chat by instant messaging, a mysterious GPS leads three members of the Wiseacre family to find the newborn king in Bethlehem, and shepherds hitch a ride because Gabriel contacted them on "Faithbook".  Chaos and hilarity ensue, but in the end, everyone discovers that the holy child born to teen parents in a barn will change their lives.

The cast, seen here with Lorraine and Chris, also helped to collect the white gifts which are to be distributed to people in the community.

April 19th - The spring concert: Requiem and other Music by John Rutter

The Combined Choirs of St. Paul's and St. James' Churches and Friends in performance of Requiem by John Rutter.
This photo does not include the children's choir (around 30 young voices) which sang to  great acclaim in the second half of the concert.
The adult choir chose to wear black because John Rutter's choirs traditionally wear black when performing the Requiem. We also wore large round pins bearing the colourful graphic from Annie Dalton's poster. Sadly, this is the only photo taken during the performance which has been made available for the website. April 12th, 2015. The Junior Choir and families at Wheeler's Sugar Bush

That morning in the worship service The Junior Choir had sung " I Believe in Springtime" by John Rutter (in anticipation of the Rutter Concert next Sunday evening, April 19th). After a delicious pancake and maple syrup lunch they experienced springtime for the first time since the long cold winter!

UCW General Meeting January 2015
Shirley O'Connell was the guest speaker sharing the story of the Izzy dolls.

Canadian Services men and women give the Izzy Dolls to children in war-torn areas and children suffering from natural disasters.
The dolls are made with love in Canada and sent with love to the children of the world and freely given with love to comfort children. Over 1.3 million Izzy dolls have been distributed.
Here Shirley is seen beside a display Izzy Doll dressed as a Canadian Soldier.

Click here to see a video about The Izzy Dolls. The video tells the story the Izzy Dolls began. It is well worth watching.

On Nov. 5th  the St. Paul's Couples' Club held its 66th Anniversary Dinner

Club members, plus guests.
A good time was had by all. We enjoyed a delicious meal, including a salad, roast turkey and all the usual side dishes, plus some great homemade pies.
Once again we were fortunate to have the United Church Women prepare and serve our dinner. As always, they did a great job and guaranteed the success of the evening.

Charlotte and Greg's wedding Sept 21, 2014
It is very unusual to have a wedding ceremony in the middle of a Sunday morning worship service, but that is what choir member Charlotte and her (now) husband Greg wanted. Rev. Gerry agreed and managed to deftly link his sermon topic on Creation with the wedding. The result was a meaningful and  beautiful worship service and wedding. The happy couple posed for a picture with the choir and choir director Brad. Absent from the picture are choir members Kathy, Barb, and John who had just left to go and serve punch at the reception. The reception was held at St. Paul's and catered by St. Paul's UCW.  Photo by Gary Crabtree.
